The
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) handles all of the
baggage and passenger screening at Augusta Regional Airport. We
are eager to help passengers prepare to travel through the airport,
especially in light of recent changes. A passenger who knows how
to pack and what to wear is going to help keep the lines moving
without delay.

SCREENING |
|
You
should arrive at the airport at least one hour prior to your
flight departure. Check in with the airline first. After the
airline has checked you in, you will take your bags to TSA-right
there in the lobby - for baggage screening. Once your bags are
checked, TSA will give them to the airline. It is important
that you do not lock your bags.
If you have questions regarding baggage limits or size, please
contact the airlines directly as the rules vary from carrier to
carrier.

SCREENING |
At
the passenger security checkpoint, you will place all carry-on baggage
and any items you are carrying with you on the belt of the X-ray machine.
You will need to lay all items flat. Just remember "IN-OUT-OFF"!
- Place all metal items IN your carry-on baggage before you reach
the front of the line.
- Take your computer OUT of its carrying case and place it in
one of the bins provided.
- Take OFF your outer coat or jacket so that it can go through
the X-ray machine (you do not need to remove your suit jacket,
sport coat, or blazer unless you are asked to do so by one of
the passenger screeners).

Following these tips will help you reduce your wait time at the
security checkpoint.
Before

- Do NOT pack or bring prohibited items to the
airport. Visit www.TSATravelTips.us

inspection.
- Avoid wearing clothing, jewelry, and accessories
that contain metal. Metal items may set off the

- Place identification tags in and on all of your baggage.
